Time is precious, so make sure you make the most of it this Christmas… with Time Credits!
We hope to inspire you to use your Time Credits in the run up to Christmas and make them part of your everyday life. We’ve been highlighting ‘Twelve Spends of Christmas’ in the past few weeks, with details of Christmas trips, places to pamper, and places where you can spend your Time Credits at any time but might be especially good at this time of year. There might even be one or two places you didn’t know you could spend at!
Share your stories!
If earning Time Credits is about giving to your community, then spending them can be much more about you. We want to hear your stories, so if you’re active on social media make sure you share your spending stories with us, using the hashtag #12spends on our Haringey, Westminster or City of London Facebook pages or on Twitter. Don’t forget to take photos!

Spend #3: Cosy up in the Cinema
We like to think of Christmas as a time of snow covered parks, with people running around and making snow men. Experience tells us this isn’t often the case, and we can be stuck with weather that is wet and wild! What better to do, then, then head inside for the latest Christmas film at a cinema that accepts Time Credits.
Take your pick from one of our amazing cinema partners:
Art House, Haringey
The Lexi, Westminster
The Barbican, City
RichMix, Tower Hamlets
Check their listings and the London Spend Brochure for updates on timings and specific offers.
Spend #4: Ice Skating at Alexandra Palace
Ice skating has fast become a festive fixture in the capital, with rinks popping up all over town. They can be expensive, but you don’t have to miss out… our friends at Alexandra Palace accept Time Credits for skating sessions at their permanent ice rink!
Check the details of when you can use your Time Credits for skating, and all the other info you need by clicking here. You can also see the Haringey Racers play ice hockey at the rink – check our London brochure for details.
Spend #5: Tower Bridge
A brisk walk along the Thames, maybe walking off some Christmas time overindulgence, can be a give a new dimension by taking a look DOWN on the river from Tower Bridge Exhibition’s glass walk way!
It’s not just the knee wobbling heights that you can enjoy. You’ll also get fine views of the City of London, Southwark, and up and down the river to Westminster and Canary Wharf. The exhibition will also tell you about the history of the Bridge, the Port of London, and local history. Something for everyone!
Cost: 2 Time Credits per person.
Open: (October – March) 09:30 – 17:00
Tower Bridge Exhibition is closed 24 – 26 December and open from 10:00 on 1 January.
Location: Tower Bridge Road, London SE1 2UP (directions)
Spend #6: St. Paul’s Cathedral
Did you know that, until the Post Office (now BT) Tower was built in the 1960’s, St. Paul’s was the tallest building in London? Even though it may no longer be the tallest building in London St. Paul’s is still a beacon of the capital for Time Credits members.
Visiting a cathedral at Christmas time can be extra special regardless of your beliefs. We encourage you to visit St. Paul’s this Christmas, soak up the atmosphere, and revel in the history of Christopher Wren’s masterpiece.
Cost: 2 Time Credits per person
Open: Check St. Paul’s website for details www.stpauls.co.uk/visits/visits
Location: St. Pauls, London, EC4M 8AD (directions)
Spend #7: Saatchi Gallery
You can visit the Saatchi Gallery anytime on your own but why not use the holidays to go with other Time Credit members?
There is something to be said about experiencing art with others, asking questions and learning from each others interpretations. Now add a guide from the Education team who can answer most of those questions with knowledge about the artwork itself or the artists intentions, and the experience becomes even more meaningful.
Join us for a spend trip to the Gallery to view the Painters’ Painter exhibition. If you enjoy the experience you can plan your own group trip for another exhibition in the New Year!
Date: Tuesday December 13th 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cost: 1 Time Credit per person
Booking: Book your place online by clicking here. There are only 20 places so book soon!
