Within the midst of the East of England Spend network, lies the secret gem, Peckover House; a beautiful National Trust property located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. It’s one of Spice’s latest additions to the 700+ Spice Time Credit Spend venues across the country.
Peckover House is an oasis hidden away in an urban environment. A classic Georgian merchant’s town house, it was lived in by the Peckover family for 150 years. The gardens themselves are outstanding – two acres of sensory delight.
Volunteers from The Big C and the Stroke Association came together to visit this stunning location. With a little support from Spice, groups were able to see just how easy it is to organise a Time Credits Spend Trip to bring together families, friends and community groups alike, to try something new and visit somewhere that many of the group didn’t know existed until now.
Tonia from The Big C commented;
“Time Credits are so important, especially the ones our volunteers gift to our users. They can make such a difference to people. Many of our service users are isolated, so this trip meant so much.”
One Time Credit member added;
“It’s something I wouldn’t do normally, and now I’ve tried it – thanks to Spice!”
Peckover House’s own volunteers earn Time Credits. By supporting both their own volunteers with Time Credits, and other volunteers by accepting Time Credits, it is a great example of how the Spice Time Credit network bring communities closer together.
The feedback from the day was brilliant and we can’t wait for a festive Time Credit trip later this year!
